The Cambridge Commonwealth Trust offers several prestigious awards each year to enable graduates of high academic ability to study at Cambridge University in Britain. The scholarships shall be awarded by the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust, following nomination by Universities New Zealand – Te Pōkai Tara Scholarships Committee.
Open to graduates who are New Zealand citizens and who wish to pursue a course of research leading to the degree of PhD at Cambridge University.
The value of the scholarship is determined by the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust in light of the financial circumstances of the applicant. Prince of Wales scholarships are usually held in conjunction with an ORS (Overseas Research Student) Award. ORS Awards pay the difference between the University Composition Fee at the home rate and the University Composition Fee at the overseas rate. The Cambridge Commonwealth Trust will meet the lower home rate of the University Composition Fee, and approved College fees. A maintenance allowance will be paid. The number of scholarships awarded varies each year.
